Since 2021, Cohiba and Weller have teamed up to unite premium cigars with one of bourbon’s most recognizable names, and the Weller by Cohiba 2025 cigar marks the fifth release in the series. Handmade at General Cigar Dominicana in the Dominican Republic, this limited 6″ x 50 toro continues the partnership while introducing a meaningful twist. The presentation nods to Weller Antique 107’s deep crimson red aesthetic, with each cigar packaged in an aluminum tube for added collector appeal.
The blend features an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper, a U.S. Broadleaf binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic (Piloto Cubano), Honduras (Jamastran, La Entrada, OSA), and Nicaragua (Estelí). The defining change for 2025 is the binder, aged in barrels that previously held Weller Antique 107 whiskey. That wheated bourbon influence brings a profile known for sweet fruit, vanilla, floral tones, and a cinnamon-driven spice, all of which subtly influence this year’s cigar.
What does the Weller by Cohiba 2025 cigar taste like?
Look for a medium to medium-full profile built on earth and wood, with layered notes of toasted oak, black pepper, and restrained vanilla sweetness. As it develops, touches of sweet fruit and baking spice surface, finishing with a gentle cinnamon warmth. It pairs naturally with bourbon (make it a wheater for added points), yet remains balanced and composed enough to enjoy on its own.
