The Red Meat Lovers Club Fritanga cigar by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust expands the Red Meat Lovers lineup, a series created to pair naturally with hearty beef dishes. First introduced in 2019 through a collaboration between Dunbarton and the Red Meat Lovers Club (RMLC), the project celebrates the connection between premium cigars and steakhouse-style dining. The Fritanga size takes its name from a Nicaraguan street food tradition centered around open-flame grilled meats. This 6″ x 52 box-pressed toro is handcrafted at the NACSA factory and joins the line as a regular production offering.
The blend features a U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés negro binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. For the Fritanga format, founder and blender Steve Saka incorporates additional ligero tobacco, giving the cigar a spicier and more robust character while maintaining the savory profile the line is known for.
What does the Red Meat Lovers Club Fritanga cigar taste like?
Expect a bold profile built on earth, roasted nuts, and black pepper, supported by musty oak and subtle sweetness. The added ligero pushes the spice forward, creating a fuller, beefier character than other sizes in the line. The result is a hearty, savory smoke that pairs naturally with grilled meats, bourbon, rye, and red wine.
