The H. Upmann Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez Sunrise Toro cigar expands the long-running partnership between H. Upmann and AJ Fernandez with a smoother, Connecticut-wrapped experience. Released in 2026, Sunrise joins the original H. Upmann by AJ Fernandez and Heritage as the third regular-production line in the collaboration. The 6″ x 54 toro was developed by AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal and is handmade at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua.
The blend pairs an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan long-fillers, creating a profile designed to be approachable without sacrificing depth. Much of the internal tobacco comes from AJ Fernandez’s own farms in Estelí, giving the cigar a distinctly Nicaraguan core beneath the lighter wrapper. The result is a medium-bodied cigar that brings a brighter, creamier style to the H. Upmann Nicaragua portfolio.
